Whitewater II - Moving Water
Whereas Whitewater I introduces paddlers to whitewater kayaks and focuses on flat water skills, Whitewater II moves the participant from flatwater onto moving water. We’ll focus on strokes and maneuvers in current, including the following skills:- Reading the River
- Launching
- Efficient Forward Paddling
- Eddy Turns and Peel-Outs
- Ferrying
- Reverse Paddling and Stopping
- Moving the Kayak Sideways
- Preventing Capsize
- Self-Rescue
- T-Rescue (Whitewater)
- Rolling
- Whitewater Safety
