GKC Level 2 - Basic Kayak

The Level 2 Geneva Kayak Center course, which is based on the BCU 2 Star and ACA Level 2 Training courses, is a great experience for those looking for comprehensive training at the beginner level.This full-day course includes the kayak and all equipment needed for the day. The following skills are taught during a Level 2 Training, which is held on calm, protected water.

• Lifting, Carrying, Launching and Landing
• Efficient Forward Paddling
• Reverse Paddling and Stopping
• Moving the Kayak Sideways
• Preventing Capsize
• Ruddering
• Turning
• Deep Water Assisted and Self-Rescue

We may also cover the following skills during a Level 2 training - sculling for support, eskimo rescue and edging. These skills will be taught in the training, but may not be tested for during a Level 2 assessment.
